Not So WOW HD

Image
One of my Christmas presents was to be Eminem's new album, The Marshal Mathers LP 2. The wife had ordered it from WOW HD (who used to be CD Wow) on December 11th, but was told that December 6th was the last date to order for a Xmas delivery.

Achievement Unlocked

Don't worry, it's not a pointless post about me unlocking achievements in games I've recently played, it's to do with the sound you hear when you unlock an achievement on the Xbox 360. Xbox 360 Achievement Sound Click the link and it will either play in your browser/media player or a download box may pop up depending on your settings.

Ninite, the single multi installer

Image
Someone in IRC was asking about something that, "lets you select a whole load of installers (like iTunes and Firefox) and then launches a program that automatically downloads and installs them" and I couldn't help but think that sounds like a bloody good idea, so I checked out the site called Ninite . These are my recommendations of programs worth installing, click here to go to the Ninite page and download them. There are also a bunch of messenger type programs which I didn't include, but would recommend Digsby as a good all-round messenger.

Katy Perry's shaven pussy

Image
It's amazing just how many hits I'll get just because of the title of this post. I get quite a few hits from people searching for ' katy perry ' and ' katy perry boobs ' of which the latter is just to a post here on my blog about an apparent 'wardrobe malfunction' as claimed by the Daily Mail when her dress ruffled down somehow to cause her boobs to almost pop out. What can I say..? It's after 4am and I'm bored, I was looking through my Twitter feed, saw she had posted the picture of her 'shaved pussy' on Twitpic and so the innuendo was just too good that it would be a crime not to post this and watch the hits roll in. Enjoy! ;)

Xmas No.1's .. and Jack Thompson .. and breasts

Image
Well it seems the 'race' for the Xmas No.1 music-wise was won by Rage Against the Machine, not really that much of a surprise since it was on sale for quite a while before X Factor winner Joe McElderry and yet, RATM seemed to only win by about 50,000. Maybe if they'd have been released at the same time, they may not have won and Joe would be number one in the charts, I'm not bothered either way since I like RATM and already have the song due to having their album with it in.

The X Factor 2009 – Stacey Solomon

Well, it’s been almost 12 months since I last blogged… why I let myself suffer with such a crappy PC for so long, I don’t know, but now armed with a laptop, I can get back to business… I want to make my first post of 2009 about a brilliantly talented singer that should win The X Factor 2009 (at least, I think she should anyway), Stacey Solomon that I took a shine to from the start. She has such a bubbly, but goofy personality that makes me laugh every time I hear her, but her voice is sublime and even if she doesn’t win, she’ll get some kind of deal and I’ll certainly be buying her stuff. Featured in this post are all the available official videos of her on The X Factor and will be kept updated until she’s either voted out or most preferably, won. Audition Bootcamp Judges House Live Show 1 Live Show 2 Live Show 3 Live Show 4 Live Show 5 Live Show 6 Live Show 7 Live Show 8 Song 1 Live Show 8 Song 2 Great that she made it into the semi final, her...

Rock Band, an easy expert achievement

Image
Are you a player of Rock Band? I'm guessing it doesn't matter whether it's on the Xbox 360 or PS3 since each version is gonna basically be the same. Do you wonder how you'll get that Flawless Groove achievement in which you need to score 100% notes hit as bassist, up-strums only and on Expert? I would suggest that since it's nice and easy, no point straining yourself for the sake of 10 GamerScore points and you can do it in solo quickplay mode too.

The day I lost my virginity

Yes, it was last night and what better way of losing my Xbox Live virginity than to a female! I'd previously subscribed to Xbox Live, but never actually played online with someone (I played the Test Drive Unlimited demo which was apparently online, but didn't know at the time). It wasn't until I was bullied... I mean, asked to play Rock Band with my gaming partner last night that I finally got to play with someone online. I'll admit I was a teensy bit nervous, dunno why considering who I was playing with, but it was a whole new experience for both of us and we loved it. Since I'm hopeless at vocals (I get less than 95% on easy with half of the songs), my main strength is guitar and bass and since I don't have the drumkit, that's all I can do. Not only that, but due to time differences, we don't usually stop playing until 4-5am and that means I can't exactly do anything too loud or I'll wake the rest of the house up. We'll no doubt play oth...

Waz releases Secret EP

Image
Who? You may ask, well, being on MySpace means I can have a browse whenever the mood strikes me and find new people or sometimes, musicians and bands will offer a request to be your friend as a way of promoting themselves. I don't normally post stuff like this, but I haven't felt like blogging for almost 2 weeks and I don't mind helping to spread the word about stuff I like. Waz is one of those who pretty much seems to do most of his own promoting and for someone that isn't on the top rung of the industry, appears to have quite a MySpace fanbase and it's all thanks to some great music. The Secret EP can be found on iTunes and is an independent release, click on the banner below to get it. You can find out more about Waz and hear some choice tunes at www.myspace.com/waz .

Virgin Media can't recognize torrents

Apparently, the wife had a phone call from Virgin Media who is our ISP, to say that we have been downloading music. The funny thing is, nobody in our household has been downloading music in the last .. at least 4 months, so where they get the idea that just because you download something through P2P means it's illegal and is therefore music, I don't know. I'm not sure if US TV programs fall under one of the categories that BPI covers, but if not, what can they do about it if I decided to use a torrent client to download something that isn't music? Or, what if I downloaded legal music via torrent? Are they going to call again and send out a second warning because I've been using peer-to-peer technology legally? I'm not the first and they're apparently calling various others that have been using P2P, whether legally or not, so this is where things are going to get interesting. If they could give me a time and/or date of when I was 'caught' using peer...

A grand day out

Image
Had a rather nice day out today by going into Birmingham to see National Treasure: Book of Secrets of which, there are bits in the trailer that were different to the film that I can't be bothered going into right now due to being tired. Anyway, I enjoyed it, it's a good action/adventure film of which was worth sitting through half an hour of adverts and trailers and then 2 hours of film. I'm a fan of Nicolas Cage , but was surprised to see some other top names in there like Helen Mirren , Diane Kruger , Ed Harris , Jon Voight and Harvey Keitel that made the film that bit more worthwhile. The only moan I have about it is that the quality was pretty crap, considering it's a film that only launched in the UK last Friday and has been played less than 20 times, it had a green line running down it a couple of times and the picture actually flickered, I thought cinemas were better quality than that, especially Odeon cinemas. After seeing the film and going to get something ...

Justin Currie UK Acoustic tour

Image
Who? Most people probably won't know who he is without visiting Google, so to save you that little trip, he's the man behind Del Amitri and he's doing an acoustic tour in March. 23rd – Manchester, Late Room 24th – Edinburgh, Pleasance Cabaret Bar 25th – Birmingham, Glee Club 26th – Cardiff, Glee Club 27th – London, Bush Hall 28th – Brighton, Komedia I only post YouTube vids when I need to since I prefer to actually blog about stuff rather than fill this space with endless videos like as seen on other blogs of people that are so boring, they think it's necessary to put 5 videos in a post. Anyway, I'd like to post this Justin Currie vid of him performing No Surrender live which is an awesome track from his album, What Is Love for . {Edit}Tickets for the Birmingham gig have been ordered!

Down with the sickness

Not only is it a great song by Disturbed from their album, The Sickness , but it's also what I'm afflicted with. As usual, one of the kids had caught a cold, so she had a week off school and that was that .. until daughter number two caught it. She suffered mainly from a fever for the first week, then she had a cold for the second week which she has now kindly passed onto her loving parents. :( This won't be a very productive week from me, so for those of you that visit here and/or especially Mental Gamers , once this fever/cold really kicks in, things will most likely come to a standstill for a while.
