Happy Birthday Blog

Well, while doing the usual messing about with the blog, I clicked to open the drop down box of the archives and saw that my first 'official' blog post was August 14th, 2006. So, Happy 2nd Birthday Blog!

Rock Band, an easy expert achievement

Image
Are you a player of Rock Band? I'm guessing it doesn't matter whether it's on the Xbox 360 or PS3 since each version is gonna basically be the same. Do you wonder how you'll get that Flawless Groove achievement in which you need to score 100% notes hit as bassist, up-strums only and on Expert? I would suggest that since it's nice and easy, no point straining yourself for the sake of 10 GamerScore points and you can do it in solo quickplay mode too.

The day I lost my virginity

Yes, it was last night and what better way of losing my Xbox Live virginity than to a female! I'd previously subscribed to Xbox Live, but never actually played online with someone (I played the Test Drive Unlimited demo which was apparently online, but didn't know at the time). It wasn't until I was bullied... I mean, asked to play Rock Band with my gaming partner last night that I finally got to play with someone online. I'll admit I was a teensy bit nervous, dunno why considering who I was playing with, but it was a whole new experience for both of us and we loved it. Since I'm hopeless at vocals (I get less than 95% on easy with half of the songs), my main strength is guitar and bass and since I don't have the drumkit, that's all I can do. Not only that, but due to time differences, we don't usually stop playing until 4-5am and that means I can't exactly do anything too loud or I'll wake the rest of the house up. We'll no doubt play oth...

Waz releases Secret EP

Who? You may ask, well, being on MySpace means I can have a browse whenever the mood strikes me and find new people or sometimes, musicians and bands will offer a request to be your friend as a way of promoting themselves. I don't normally post stuff like this, but I haven't felt like blogging for almost 2 weeks and I don't mind helping to spread the word about stuff I like. Waz is one of those who pretty much seems to do most of his own promoting and for someone that isn't on the top rung of the industry, appears to have quite a MySpace fanbase and it's all thanks to some great music. The Secret EP can be found on iTunes and is an independent release, click on the banner below to get it. You can find out more about Waz and hear some choice tunes at www.myspace.com/waz .

Why do I play Second Life?

Image
Yeah, I said I wasn't up on it a while ago and to be honest, I almost uninstalled it about a week ago until my gaming partner decided to check it out and got quite hooked on it, so now I've got back into it and besides the inability to get my avatar the way I want it, it's starting to grow on me. So, why do I play Second Life? This... Ace & Shey sharing tender moments...

A map of the US, simple?

Image
After having yet another holiday in the UK, I suggested we actually leave the country for our next one and one of the places I've always wanted to visit is Chicago . From when I was merely a teen, I became a fan of the Bears for NFL and although I took a liking to the Red Sox for baseball, the Cubs still edge them out as favourites. Another recent favourite thing of mine to hail from Chicago is Disturbed , their Ten Thousand Fists album was pretty much the most played album of 2007 for me. So anyway, the family ask whereabouts it is and if it's really hot there or whatever, so I try to explain to the eldest where it is by using my hand to represent North America, being young, her mind drifted and.. well, that's another story.. but I thought I'd look for a map to see exactly where it was and wow, how hard is it to find a map that shows just the state names and capitals? I just wanted a nice, simple map that showed me where stuff is and not have 100 other things going ...
