I'm on MySpace .. again

Image
I'm sure I already signed up at MySpace ... oh wait, I did ... That's why I was surprised to see that I'd apparently registered again yesterday... Hi ace man -- Thanks for joining MySpace! Here's your account info for logging in: E-mail: ********** @hotmail.co.uk Password: ****** Keep it secret. Keep it safe. Please confirm your MySpace account by clicking here: http://collect.myspace.com/reloc.cfm?c=3&code=RaNdOm-NuMbErS_&_LeTtErS Hmm, really, now why would I; Register using my Hotmail address when I have a special GMail address for just such occassions? Use such a small password of only 6 digits, when the majority of my passwords are at least 10 characters long?! Wear a hoodie in a kitchen showing off the bumfluff on my top lip and take a photo to put on my MySpace page? I've said it before and I'll say it once again, if you're going to register for something that needs you to have access to the email account you register with, so that you can open...

Jeremy Beadle R.I.P.

Image
Yet another British TV legend has passed on to pastures new. Jeremy Beadle has died of pneumonia after going into hospital last week when diagnosed with it. He'd also been diagnosed with a mild form of leukaemia in 2005 of which he didn't really seem to suffer with, but now at the age of 59, he's lost the battle against something that takes many lives per year. People had a kind of love/hate attitude with him, his main thing was playing pranks on people which is why so many didn't like him, I don't see how he was irritating since many of his stunts didn't particularly involve him until the end where he would turn up in disguise and then reveal himself to the unsuspecting victim. Anyway, regardless of what other idiots think, I always thought he was a nice and decent bloke who just liked a good laugh and it's a pity that he died so young, pneumonia is harsh, but 59 isn't that old. R.I.P. Sir Prankster.

KoenT, R4 skin stealer

Now, I don't mind if people want to share the R4/M3 skins that I've created, but please do the considerate thing and credit the person that created them. It seems KoenT either doesn't know or doesn't care who created them and so, gives himself the credit. As I said in the Katie Melua skin comments of his NDSThemes page, if you don't know who created the skin, look in the theme.ini file (it can easily be opened with Notepad) and you will see not only the name of the creator, but the date the skin was created. Thanks to Anonymous for the heads up, but remember folks, if you're going to try and steal something from someone to claim as your own, at least make some changes, even if it's just the colour of the text/scrollbar. And to think I was going to make some new skins soon ... *makes mental note to watermark images too*... ;)

Wife buys ASDA's most expensive cakes

Image
The missus went out earlier to ASDA with our neighbour as they usually do a couple of times a week to get a few things, only this time, she brought back what must be the most expensive cakes ASDA sell. As the sticker says, "WHOOPS!". Whoops indeed when, instead of being reduced from £1.54 to £1.00, something went wrong and she was charged over £800 for them instead. It was obviously a mistake and the charge was voided, but wow, they would have to be from a really extra special range to cost that much! :o

My Space on MySpace

I've taken the plunge and done the MySpace thing, but just like Facebook, I'll probably just check on it a couple of times a day and hardly bother with it. Reason for registering? On IRC, people paste links that usually bring up the error 'you need to be logged in' and so now, there's a chance I'll be logged in and be able to see what they're linking to. If anyone with similar tastes wants to add me, feel free to do so as long as you aren't a spammer or pointless self-promoter, the internet has enough of those already. :)

Heath Ledger, 1979 - 2008

Image
Heath Ledger has been found dead in which was apparently Mary-Kate Olsen's apartment, on her bed, naked and surrounded by pills. What he was doing there in the first place is a mystery since Olsen is in California and if she's there, why would the housekeeping maid be going there? Would that 'maid' be in fact the masseuse he was waiting for and did she 'find' him or could it be something more sinister? It's only been a short while, so what actually happened is anyone's guess at the moment and the alleged cause of death is an overdose, only time and forensics will tell. It's a sad loss to see someone die so young. :( News sources: BBC , Associated Press , New York Times , The Telegraph , Sydney Morning Herald .

Blue Harvest is on its way!

Image
I pre-ordered Family Guy Presents Blue Harvest (Ltd Edition) from amazon.co.uk back on January 7th and I got an email today to say it has been dispatched! I'm not sure if it's even been shown on UK TV yet since it doesn't even get advertised that it's being shown. I think it's on BBC3 at some unknown hour (usually around midnight or later), but never gets advertised on BBC1 or BBC2, which means it doesn't get the exposure to the UK TV viewing audience it deserves. I've been looking through my DVD collection and noticed that I really don't have as many as I thought, so this year, I'll be replacing as many of my VHS films as I can and even films I've recorded off the TV (Sky Movies type films). I've noticed quite a few of them I can get in bundles/double/triple/boxsets, so at least it won't cost too much!

The Tom Cruise Scientology vid

It's already been uploaded to the internet and as hard as the Church of Scientology International try to have it eradicated from YouTube, someone will upload it somewhere else for the internet to see.

Favourite part of The Simpsons Movie

Image
I've been playing Guitar Hero II, III and Rocks The 80s quite a bit lately and practicing some songs in Hard mode, which is why I haven't blogged in 5 days and my little finger is aching like buggery. The kids have watched The Simpsons Movie DVD about 5 times already since getting it on Christmas Day and yet I was still the only one not to have seen it, so last night I watched it for the first time. Oh how it was funny, it was enjoyable all the way through except for a part where I thought Homer was unnecessarily, extremely and quite excessively dumb. Yeah, I know he's usually a bit stupid anyway, but it was a bit over the top and I didn't really find that part very funny, but my favourite part was when they were in Alaska, Bart had drew Ned Flanders over a photo of Homer and was saying, "Howdly doodly, howdly doodly, howdly doodly" in which Homer decided to do his trademark strangling of Bart and I just literally burst out laughing as Homer was strangling him...

Beware of Facebook phishing

If you haven't already heard or seen anything about it yet, the latest buzz is that a message is appearing in peoples Facebook profiles on their walls as a fake link that takes you to a site which is supposed to contain 'naughty' pictures. lol i cant believe these pics got posted….its going to be BADDDD when her boyfriend sees these- http://www.facebook.com.profile.php.id.<random ID number removed>.cn Whatever you do, DON'T go to that link which is not only fake, but if you sign in with your details, they're most likely to be stolen by whoever it is that's set up the scam. One of the interesting things about it is that the link brings up 10 IP's when doing a /dns in IRC: ::: dns: resolved (www.facebook.com.profile.php.id.<random ID number removed>.cn) to (123.2.88.67) ::: dns: resolved (www.facebook.com.profile.php.id.<random ID number removed>.cn) to (67.187.50.73) ::: dns: resolved (www.facebook.com.profile.php.id.<random ID number re...

Just plodding along

Image
Well, not really being doing much lately, I seem to be going through quite a messed up sleeping pattern where I can sleep for so many hours during the night and then having about another 3 hours or so in the evening. Not been playing many games except for a bit of GTA and Guitar Hero II and III with Rocks the 80s maybe due tomorrow as it was posted on Monday, so I'll be having a good look at that and going through all the songs, especially that The Romantics song to see what the big deal is about. I can't believe they tried to sue Activision because it "sounds too much like" them, don't they realise that it's a cover and supposed to sound like them? Anyway, I'll be opening my bottle of Jack Daniel's a bit later to have a tipple of JD and coke, only proper Coca-Cola though, not cheap shop brand crap that tastes crap. JD is top quality stuff and deserves only to be mixed with Coca-Cola or Pepsi (or any top brand of lemonade like Schweppes if that...
