This weeks TV viewing

This isn't going to be a regular thing as I don't think it's necessary to let people know what I watch every day of the week, so this is a summary of what I've watched this week and will be watching over the coming weeks. If you blog or read blogs of what people have watched on TV every day, you need to get out more. Note to US people: Yes, programs are a day late due to me not being in the US, I'm sure you can figure out how I saw them. Monday 24th. The Simpsons wasn't too bad and was actually funny, they need to keep that momentum. King of the Hill wasn't particularly a good season opener, the only funny bit really was the Luanne /HDTV bit. Family Guy was awesome as usual and the Star Wars parody is probably the best I've seen. Tuesday 25th. Heroes is back and ... was ok. Claire seems to be in some kind of retard school and there's a couple of new characters we're yet to find out the significance of. Rumours are going around that Hiro bec...

Suspended from YouTube

Thanks to 20th Century Fox and their crusade to have anything remotely infringing on any of their copyrights removed, I'm suspended from YouTube. They asked for a The Simpsons Game trailer to be removed not too long ago and then earlier, a Family Guy videogame trailer to be removed which resulted in me getting a third strike and I was outta there. I guess they didn't even bother to watch the trailers, just saw that it looked like the cartoon from the thumbnail and decided it was infringing their copyright, even though I had obtained the trailers from the official source which was THQ and EA. Whoever decided they were infringing copyright need their head looked at, I was helping to promote a videogame that was based on the TV program, not actual TV footage, but a VIDEOGAME. All copyrights were left in the trailers and nothing was altered, so why they thought it was infringing anything, I don't know. Anyway, I've contacted YouTube in some distinct hope of having the video...

Great TV is back!

Image
Hoorah! Family Guy is back and if you didn't already know, it's the 'Star Wars' episode or Blue Harvest to give it it's proper title. A new season of The Simpsons has also started which really needs to get funnier. Some of the later episodes of last season were getting better and let's hope they can bring it back to the way it was before season 17 when it went downhill in the humour stakes. Season 12 of King of the Hill is something I'll be taking a look at, I don't really get to watch it too much on TV due to it being on at strange times of the day. Finally from last night, Cold Case is back for a 5th season of which will probably start here in the UK in about a months time, that's if Sky have bothered to get the rights for it. Tonight sees the return of Heroes with Grey's Anatomy on Thursday and something new that looks quite interesting, Private Practice launches on Wednesday. Oh no! I almost forgot about Bones , how could I forgot that...

I have a confession to make...

Image
I remember seeing the ads on TV and thinking, 'Ooh, that looks good. When I get a PC, I'm going to get that!' since I've always been a fan of the God Game genre. And so, when I got my PC, although I was on the internet through 56k dial-up and couldn't believe the difference in speed compared to the Dreamcast online, I was yet to venture into online shopping. This meant I was still buying in 'the old fashion way' of high street stores ... well ... mainly one store which at the time was Electronics Boutique, it was after GAME had taken over that I saw it .. and it was a Collector's Edition too! If you haven't already guessed by looking at the image first, it was The Sims, yes, the game so many love, but a whole lot more hate. It also came with Livin' It Up (or Livin' Large as it was known as in the US) and over the next 18 months or so, I managed to get all the expansions too... "House Party" "Hot Date" "On Holiday...

Yay! Finally got a new telly

Image
My old 24" widescreen Hitachi finally bit the dust and wasn't going to improve, so it's had to be put down. So distraught was I, I found myself bored and restless, not knowing what to do since I don't play games on the PC, not many anyway and they're usually casual type games or emulated. Then, fate smacked me in the jaw with an offer I couldn't refuse, a 26" HD Ready LCD TV for the bargaintastic price of just £199.99 (approx $404USD). I had seen an Acoustic Solutions TV for £229.99 (approx $464USD), but it seemed to have a bit too much case for my liking, which is why I went for the Wharfedale TV, not just because it was £30 cheaper. I'm still figuring out what buttons do what, but I have to say, the Xbox 360 looks a lot clearer through it. I was so used to just seeing it through a normal (CRT) TV and how it mushed some of the graphics not just in games, but even just on the Dashboard.

Pay attention to me .. please :(

It's always a laugh when someone on IRC thinks they have the most exciting thing to say ... and have no response due to the lack of interest. It's a day late, but I lost all interest in .. everything this week due to my TV finally giving up the ghost, but I have a new one which will be featured in another post after this. Anyway, the site for this week has been going since way back when and still seems to be going strong. If you've ever dreamed of being a rock star, but don't have the actual talent, then... Is this really spam?

Image
I'm beginning to wonder if these people that use my hotmail address for signing up to sites I've never heard of are real people or is some kind of new spam. The latest moron to lose an account on a site they signed up at is... If you're wondering why I've left the login details there, well, I closed the account, so it shouldn't work now. The reason I wonder if it's spam is due to the username and password. Not many people would put -2 at the end of their name, but I guess that could be an alternative offered by the site, the main thing that makes me a bit suspicious is the password. Why would someone pick such a small and easy to guess password? It doesn't really make much sense unless the person is an idiot and can't remember something more unique or even write it down. Another reason I think it could be spam is that the email used is the same one I'm registered on Xbox Live with, yet I've never bought any games from Xbox Live Arcade. XBLA is al...

U R MR GAY

Someone linked to a post in the NeoGAF forums that pointed something out about the Super Mario Galaxy Wii packshot, look at the letters which have a star on them... That can't be just a coincidence, those letters have been purposely selected and no, this image hasn't been altered in any way, it's the original artwork (just resized to fit on my blog).

Big Brother Carole goes naked

Image
Why? Well, Closer magazine have done a feature on 'fuller-figured women' and as Carole is quite the plumper, she's stripped all and posed for the magazine. “It’s depressing that women worry so much about their figures. I’ve always been big; my mother was big too. I’m proud of my huge boobs – I’d never have a reduction,” she said. I must admit, she doesn't look too bad in the pic, but I guess that's the magic of make-up for you. I'm gonna be honest here and say she looks nice, ok, so I like plump women and I like natural big boobs even more, but she certainly doesn't look 53 years old. Not only has she bared all, but she's due to be the face for Specsavers too. No doubt people will be going, "Ew" and all sorts of unnecessary rude comments (which I've already seen, yet not one supportive article), but I say good for her. Just because other people are insecure about themselves doesn't mean they have to jump on the bandwagon of sad gits wh...

Friday Former Site #5

It's that time of the week again where I dig out an old link, check if it still exists and post it here, I should probably rename this series since some of the sites aren't 'funny' in .. well .. any kind of sense... Actually, instead of calling it 'Friday Funny Site', it will now be known as 'Friday Former Site' since former means: for·mer 1 – adjective 1. preceding in time; prior or earlier: during a former stage in the proceedings. 2. past, long past, or ancient: in former times. or for·mer 2 1. Occurring earlier in time. 2. Of, relating to, or taking place in the past. ...and this is all about sites from 6 or 7 years ago that still exist. So there you go and I still keep the 'FFS' acronym, previous posts will be renamed shortly... Remember the days when you were a kid and loved to blow bubbles, costing your mum a fortune in bubble solution or washing-up liquid?! Maybe you have your own kid(s) now and they like running around outside with their...

I'm on Reuters!

Well who'd have thought that my comment about mothers moaning that their kids would be exposed to the Vanessa Hudgens nude photo would be featured in a Reuters news article?! I first noticed when I was getting quite a few hits from Woman 24 , a site that appears to be news for women, by women. So, as you do, I went to the referring link to see why so many people had visited my blog... Then more were visiting from asiaone , a news site that covers news from around the world for Asia I guess and a few other sites had also linked what was basically the original Reuters article copy & pasted. I know it's not that much of a big deal, but the point I was making about the mothers that were complaining should be more worried about how their kids saw the image. I think the article about the whole Hudgens nude thing being passe doesn't really count in my opinion, as far as I'm concerned, she's not even in the same league as someone like Vanessa Williams, the only reason ...

The Chuck Crowd

Image
I remember when The IT Crowd first started and due to people talking about it, I decided to take a look. 2 episodes later and I stopped watching it due to lack of humour and a failed attempt at stereotyping. I just didn't find it funny at all and wondered why some people were in hysterics about it. I haven't even bothered with the new season of it, I don't even know when it's on TV and I don't care. I saw Chuck the other day and found that it was just as funny. I'm sure I almost thought about the distinct possibility of smiling, but alas, twas not to be. It's slightly more exciting due to the premise of the programme, but it still didn't provide the sufficient material required to requisition even a smirk from me. Roll on the return of Lost and Heroes, TV I can actually stand to watch.

Friday Funny Site #4

I'd almost forgot it was Fiday (technically, it's after 1am Saturday morning, but meh) and so here is this weeks funny site. I don't know if this has been updated since I last visited all those years ago, but it's not really the kind of site that needs constant maintenance and the fact that it still exists is beyond comprehension. It's not the kind of site you would find in a general Google search, it could be considered as an early Lolcat, it certainly pre-dates all lolcat existence. Make Grumpy Dune dance on ... Poo.org

Vanessa Hudgens in nude photo shocker!

Image
Who? Well, she apparently stars in Disney's tedious High School Musical films as "Gabriella, the sweet, innocent science geek" and has recently had a nude photo shown on the internet. What makes it such a 'scandal' is down to her status of the character she plays and the fact that it's a Disney film aimed at a young audience, but what I don't understand is, why bring so much attention to it and why have so many parents already seen the photo? How did they find the photo and I suppose a more important question is, why were they searching for it in the first place? "She's damaged," Renee Rollins-Greenberg, a Los Angeles mother of two, told Reuters. "She's got this teeny-bop audience, young pre-teens and younger, who are admiring her and thinking she's this wonderful, pure innocent person. Eighteen is awfully young for this kind of display." "I'm devastated because I have an 8-year-old for which I now have to ha...

Don't bother with Eudora beta

Well, they could have mentioned that Eudora 8 was just Thunderbird 2.0.0.6 with a Eudora look to it before having people download, install and try it. How much is honesty? I thought I would test it out and see if it was any different, I even said to people that it was just Thunderbird with crap icons and now a post at Compiler - Wired Blogs has pretty much confirmed that. A little word of advice if anyone is thinking of trying the Eudora 8.0 beta, don't bother, wait until they've actually done something with it which could be just after whenever the next version of Firefox and/or Thunderbird is released. Friday Funny Site #3

Another week passed and I've hardly blogged, then again, there's been nothing to blog about. Anyway, this weeks site is kind of still there, but may not be for much longer. Since I wrote down the URL 7 years ago, I can't remember how I found the site, but I guess it was through a Google search or something... Without further ado, hold onto your udders because here's ............. Xena Warrior Milkmaid
